Roofing is Up
This post has been a week late. Last week has been chaos at home front and so the delay
(Guess whats new about chaos - With 2 kids it is always chaos)
Friday Feb 6 we went to the site - Progress has been slow with bricking to be done
On 8 Feb Sunday we had to go to meet our new neighbours regarding the back fence - What a surprise - 80% of roof tiles had been done. This was a real surprise because Saturday the previous day was the hottest day in history in Melbourne with temperatures raging 46 deg and it was the Black Saturday
When we spoke to our neighbours(Poor things they did their move on the scorching historical day) they said they saw the roofers working on Saturday afternoon. It was not only hot but it was also windy and dry.
We are not sure whats the right word for the roofies - committed or crazy
We were a bit nervous about the Walnut colour roof tile - But after it has been done we are happy with the colours.

Black Saturday - A day nobody is going to forget
For those of u overseas ( We know a lot of you are aware already because of all the emails) but a quick idea for those of u who might have not heard
This last few weeks has seen the worst fires in the history of Victoria
The last know last count of people killed is 189 - God knows how many injured and over 1800 homes destroyed
In some cases it is entire towns have been burnt off the face of the map
SHOCKING - This has been the highest number of people killed in a peacetime event in Australia
No words can describe the enormity and destruction of these fires
The worst part of this was started by arsonist.
The drought, high temperature sometimes greater than 45 degrees and winds just fanned the fire to an uncontrollable blaze
In the worst of times we find the best in people
It is amazing - the spirit of all the people who have been affected
The strength the endurance determination makes us feel so small
Not to mention the thousands of fire fighters and the volunteers working so much to get the fire under control and help the thousands. Our respects to each one of them
It has not stopped - New fires are still starting - We are proud to be part of such a Resilient Giving community
Here is snap of where the fires have been
Have uploaded a few images from all the news sites to give an idea of how savage it was

Windows 2009 - No fear of Blue Screen of Death
Last week the windows and sliding doors and French Doors were installed.
All of the Aluminium Windows except the big cathedral windows and the ensuite bay Windows has been installed
We were real excited - It is starting to look more like a house rather than a couple of sticks put together
The bay window is a work of art made of wood.
Front View
View on Left Side - Study, Laundry , Meals and Family
Front Window - This is the only one timber window in the house
A feature for the facade
Side Profile of the same circular bay window
Dining Window
French Doors from Meals to Alfresco
Sliding Door in Home Theatre
Front Upstairs Window - Right is Window in the void
Left io sone of the windows of "DD"s room
Windows for the upstairs play area
Ideally we would have loved to have bigger windows - But we could not because the roof line of the alfresco as u can see in the photo below
Upstairs Play Area and bedroom window
Kitchen Window from Alfresco
Kitchen Window from inside
Sliding Door from Family to Alfresco
Sloooow Progress
Last few weeks we have not updated - Why - Because nothing much has happened
We go for our daily pilgrimage to the holy land. All we see are a more few bricks added on.
Guess all the 40 degree days we have been having did not help
We are really hoping that the bricking would go faster from this point.
"L" the supervisor was away on holidays
"L" got back and was also not too happy with the bricking progress.
Fingers crossed that it would get better
Kids are starting a new school this year
"DD" is real excited at the thought of making new friends (typical girl who loves to talk and meet new people)
But "DS" who is older is grouchy at the thought of leaving old friends. He loves to remain in his comfort zone (typical male - talking is like pulling a tooth out -AAAAAhhhhhhhhhh)
Keeping fingers crossed for that too
